A paradigm shift is occuring in conceptualizing the biological basis of psychiatric disorders, namely the notion of “symptoms and circuits.” 1,2 Psychiatric syndroms are being de-constructed into into their symptoms and then marched to hypothetically malfunctionining neuronal circuits that can potentially not only not only ‘ ‹explain the genesis of these symptoms.
